BEYOND A SECOND OPINION

When autoimmune symptoms, abnormal labs, or treatment decisions are unclear, get expert rheumatology clarity from home.

Haus Health provides concierge-style virtual rheumatology consultations for adults, children, and families with known or suspected rheumatic disease. We help patients understand confusing symptoms, abnormal labs, unclear diagnoses, and treatment decisions — whether they need a second opinion or a first expert review.

With permission, we can help retrieve medical records electronically, review uploaded records and photos, conduct a guided virtual physical exam, and provide a written report within five business days.

Led by a Harvard-trained rheumatologist, board-certified in adult and pediatric rheumatology.

Consultations are available in English and Spanish for patients in Massachusetts and Florida.

Is This Right for Me?

A Haus Health consultation may help if you or your child has:

  • Persistent symptoms without a clear diagnosis

  • A positive ANA or abnormal autoimmune labs

  • Joint pain, swelling, rashes, fevers, fatigue, or unexplained inflammation

  • Conflicting opinions about a rheumatic or autoimmune condition

  • Symptoms continuing despite treatment

  • Questions about biologics, steroids, methotrexate, or other immunosuppressive medications

  • Complex medication histories or medication side effects

  • Concern for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren’s, vasculitis, JIA, autoinflammatory disease, or another rheumatic condition

You do not need an existing diagnosis or prior rheumatology opinion. For some patients, this is a second opinion. For others, it is a first expert review to help determine whether rheumatology care is indicated.

We help gather your records

No need to chase down every record yourself

Getting a rheumatology consultation should not require hours of phone calls, portals, faxes, and paperwork.

With your permission, Haus Health can help retrieve medical records electronically from many hospitals, clinics, labs, and imaging centers nationwide. You can also securely upload any records you already have.

Your rheumatologist reviews the available information before your visit, so the consultation can focus on what matters most: your symptoms, diagnosis, treatment options, and next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Many patients come to Haus Health because they are still searching for answers. We help evaluate whether symptoms and test results may suggest a rheumatic or autoimmune condition, whether another explanation may be more likely, and when additional rheumatology evaluation may be appropriate. When needed, we can also help patients prepare for or expedite local rheumatology follow-up care.

  • No. Some patients come to Haus Health for a second opinion after seeing other clinicians. Others come because they have persistent symptoms, abnormal labs, or unanswered questions, and want to know whether rheumatology care is appropriate.

Your consultation can help clarify whether your symptoms and test results suggest a rheumatic disease, whether another explanation may be more likely, and what next steps to discuss with your local clinicians.

  • No. With your permission, Haus Health can help retrieve medical records electronically from many hospitals, clinics, labs, and imaging centers nationwide. You can also securely upload any records, lab results, imaging reports, photos, or notes you already have.

Depending on your symptoms, your rheumatologist may ask you to show areas of swelling, rash, or limited movement; demonstrate range of motion; walk or change position; or perform simple maneuvers to better understand your symptoms.

A virtual exam does not replace an in-person examination when one is medically necessary, but it can provide useful information when combined with your history, records, labs, imaging reports, and uploaded photos.

  • You will receive a written report that may include diagnostic impressions, interpretation of relevant labs and records, treatment considerations, recommended next steps, and guidance on whether further rheumatology care may be indicated.

The report is designed to help you better understand your situation and to support conversations with your local clinicians.

  • Most patients complete their consultation and receive their written report within five business days.

  • Haus Health focuses on comprehensive second-opinion consultations and diagnostic clarification rather than ongoing longitudinal management.
